Hughton welcomes Anfield test

Brighton head coach Chris Hughton has challenged his side to build on their win over Manchester United when they visit Liverpool this weekend.

Albion got off the mark for the new Premier League season with a 3-2 home victory against the Red Devils last weekend, having given a limp display in their opening game of the campaign - a 2-0 defeat Watford.

The challenge is for us to improve our away form and they don't come any tougher than away at Anfield.

Now the challenge is to try and take something from a trip to Anfield, where the hosts are unbeaten in league action since April 2017.

However, Hughton is upbeat about the task in hand, having been hugely impressed by his players against United.

He told reporters: "We have to approach Saturday in a manner which will allow us to get something - the Manchester United result should give us the confidence to do that.

"We're expecting a fast game because of how they play - they have a lot of pace in the side.

"We have to defend well, but also be a threat ourselves. We'll need good periods in the game and will have to take advantage of those.

"The challenge is for us to improve our away form and they don't come any tougher than away at Anfield."

The Seagulls are waiting on the fitness of central defender Lewis Dunk, who has missed training this week after suffering an ankle injury during the victory over the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, Israeli striker Tomer Hemed has left the club to link up with QPR on a season-long loan.

Brighton can be backed at 6/1 to secure a draw at Anfield, with a 2-2 final scoreline priced at 33/1, while both teams to score is available at 11/10.
