Hull City have announced their failure to convince FIFA to allow them to sign forward Yannis Salibur from Ligue 1 sideGuingamp.
According toBBC, the Tigers had agreed a £9m deal for the player on deadline day, but could not complete the signing in time because of a delay in the paperwork.
Marco Silva was hoping to have the 26-year-old in his squad for the rest of the season, with Hull seeking special dispensation to sign the player after the deadlinefrom the game's governing body. He even kept a free spot in his 25-man Premier League list just in case.
However, FIFA decided against allowing the club to acquire the forward - who has recorded 12 goals and seven assists in 56 outingssince joining the French side - and announced the unfortunate news via their official Twitter account.

The Tigers have enjoyed a decent run of form under Silva since his takeover in early January, though. They have snatched seven points from an available 12, and are now just one point from safety.
