Hull City Extend Contracts of 6 First-Team Players Including Robert Snodgrass

Hull City have officially extended the contracts of six first-team players, including star midfielder Robert Snodgrass, after exercising options to take the deals to June 2018.

Michael Dawson, Abel Hernandez, Jake Livermore, Harry Maguire and Andrew Robertson are the other names that are now tied to the Tigers for another 12 months.

Academy defender Josh Tymon, who at the age of just 17 made his Premier League debut last month, has also extended his scholarship agreement until the end of next season.

it was rumoured earlier this week that Snodgrass had rejected the offer of a new contract. With his current deal due to expire at the end of the season it was thought that Hull would have to find a buyer in January or lose him for nothing in the summer.

The likes of West Ham, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Aston Villa were all named as interested, but Hull have been able to strengthen their position with the option they held.

Scottish left-back Robertson is another who has been linked with a move away from Hull in recent seasons. Liverpool and Manchester United have both been mentioned when it has come to speculation about his future, but he will remain a Hull player for the time being.

The news about all six, plus Tymon, should provide a timely boost. The Tigers currently prop up the rest of the Premier League in 20th place and are without a win since early November.

Collecting points over the festive period will be crucial to their survival hopes, with tough games against Manchester City, Everton and West Brom on the immediate horizon.
