Hearts of Oak legend Bernard Dong Bortey has confessed that he is always in pain about his career, admitting he could have reached better heights.
Bortey came into the scene in the U 17 World Cup in 1999, scoring three goals to become the joint top scorer in the tournament.
He also won four Ghana Premier League trophies, a goal king gong and a CAF Confederation Cup trophy but most fans have deemed his career a big disappointment and he shares the sentiment.
"I’m always in pain about my career because when I was in my prime, my target was the African or world best player award," Bortey told Goal.
"If [George] Oppong Weah can be world best, Don Bortey can be world best. Maybe my kids will reach that stage I was not able to reach.
