Interim coach of Hearts of Oak, Abdul Bashiru has insisted that he has the ability to turn the fortunes of the club around if he is being named as the head coach of the club.

The former Legon Cities head coach was named as the interim coach of the club following the departure of Martin Koopman, who was the head coach of the club.

Hearts of Oak have been unimpressive in the ongoing 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season and after 14 games played, the Rainbow Club sit 9th on the Premier League log with three wins, seven draws and four defeats.

Bashiru speaking in an interview said he hopes to be named the head coach for the side.

According to him, he has the ability to turn the fortunes of the club around.

"I sincerely hope to be appointed as Hearts of Oak's full-time head coach because, without a doubt, I am the coach with the ability to turn the fortunes of the club around," he told Kumasi-based Akoma FM.

Meanwhile, Abdul Bashiru is yet to record a win since his appointment as the interim coach of the club.

Hearts of Oak after the 3-2 defeat against Asante Kotoko over the weekend will hope to return to winning ways when they travel to face Nations FC at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in the matchday 15 games.
