Midfielder Sulley Muntari has expressed his excitement after scoring his first goal for the club on Wednesday.

The 37-year-old was on the scoresheet on Wednesday the Phobians 2-1 win over WAFA at the Accra Sports Stadium in the matchday 19 games.

Kwadwo Obeng Jnr broke the deadlock for the Rainbow club in the second half but Henry Owari levelled the Academy Boys up.

However, Sulley Muntari stepped up to convert a spot-kick to seal the win for the reigning champions.

Speaking after the game, the former Black Stars midfielder lauded his coaching staff and teammates but could not hide his joy.

“I’m pleased but the most important thing is Hearts of Oak," he told StarTimes after the game.

“I came in and I got the chance to play for Hearts of Oak, is a big team here, the guys are amazing, the coach, the staff so I am very pleased to be here and also the fans are making things right.

"I am home so it’s just a joy to be here,” he added.

Samuel Boadu and his charges have now moved to the 5th position on the league log with 29 points.

Hearts of Oak will be hosted by Aduana Stars in the matchday 20 games at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Sunday.
