New West Ham United recruit Kalvin Phillips has expressed his enthusiasm about teaming up with Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus.

The England midfielder recently inked a loan deal with the Hammers, making a temporary move from Manchester City.

Despite Phillips achieving a treble last season, he faced challenges securing sufficient playing time at his former club, Leeds United.

Now, as he embarks on this new chapter with West Ham, Phillips is eager to share the pitch with players of the caliber of Mohammed Kudus.

In his remarks following the completion of his transfer to the London-based club, Phillips conveyed his excitement, stating, "I’m just so thrilled to kick off this new journey. I'm aware of the quality within the team. When you observe players like Lucas Paquetá and Mohammed Kudus, along with the entire squad, it's impossible not to be excited."

Mohammed Kudus has already made a significant impact in his debut season at West Ham, boasting six goals and an assist in 16 English Premier League games.

Additionally, he left a mark in his first Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign by netting two goals in two appearances for Ghana’s Black Stars during the 2023 AFCON.
