Former interim boss of AshantiGold SC, Yakubu Shaibu Mambo has given his thoughts on his demotion from the senior team to the Academy setup of the side, and has insisted that he is yet to decide on this arrangement.
After the club’s humiliating 6-1 defeat to WAFA on Sunday, the club’s hierarchy quickly made some changes in the technical team. They have appointed Italian Robert Landi as their new head coach with former player Thomas Duah acting as assistant coach.
Due to this arrangement, Mambo has been relegated to the role of Academy Coach and Scout. He has given his reaction to that.
“It’s true I have been asked to step aside as the head coach of the club, and a new head coach was introduced to the technical team yesterday with Thomas Duah named as the new assistant," he told Foxx FM.
He added: "I have been assigned to handle the academy side and double as a scout for the club. I have not decided yet whether I will accept that role or not”.
