Ghanaian defender Jan Gyamerah has explained his decision to join FC Kaiserslautern, citing the club's rich tradition and potential for success.

The versatile defender, who was born in Germany, is making the move from league rival FC Nuremberg.

Gyamerah, who has played for traditional clubs like Hamburger SV and VfL Bochum, brings a wealth of experience to FC Kaiserslautern. With over 170 second division games under his belt, he has proven his adaptability in various defensive positions, including right-back, central defence, and defensive midfield.

"I have only played for traditional clubs so far, and that was a decisive factor in my decision to move to FCK," Gyamerah said. "In addition, there were the very good discussions with the coach and those in charge that convinced me. I generally believe that the club has a lot of potential and I am happy to be able to do my part to be successful together with FCK."

Gyamerah's versatility and leadership, having captained FC Nuremberg ten times last season, are expected to be valuable assets for FC Kaiserslautern as they aim for future success.
