I can’t do anything to help the team win games if we miss penalties - Karela coach Ibrahim Tanko Shaibu

Karela United's head coach, Ibrahim Tanko Shaibu, has lamented that he can’t do anything to help his team win games if they are missing penalties.

The Pride and Passion lads had an opportunity to win their game against Hearts of Oak with 10 minutes to the end of the game but Solomon Adomako’s effort was saved by Richmond Ayi, ending the game at 1-1.

Drawing the Ghana Premier League week 9 game at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Saturday means Karela United are 14th on the league log and could be further down by Sunday when all week 9 games are played.

After the game, Shaibu voiced his disappointment, saying, "Everything went well except that we did not take our chances,” he told StarTimes.

“Imagine getting a penalty at the 37th minute, 8 minutes to go, and the player wastes it. So, what else can I do? I'll keep talking to them, trying to motivate them for the next challenge."
