I felt bad - Majeed Ashimeru opens up on missing out on Black Stars squad for 2022 World Cup

Ghana midfielder, Majeed Ashimeru has revealed that he felt bad after being left out of Black Stars' squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The exciting midfielder following his explosive season with Anderlectch earned a place in the provisional squad for the Mundial.

However, Ashimeru was left dropped from the final squad for the Mundial.

According to him, playing at the World Cup is every player's dream but felt bad about the decision of Otto Addo to leave him out of the final squad.

"The World Cup is the biggest football tournament in the world and every player wants to play the World Cup," he told 3Sports in an interview.

"Personally, I felt bad for not playing at the World Cup but I also felt these are my guys and they need my support."

He however admitted that he was elated to see Salis and Kudus to see feature at the global showpiece in Qatar.

"Seeing Samed Salis at the World Cup makes me happy because he is someone I always talk to every day and with Kudus (Mohammed), he is like a younger brother to me because we grew up in the same hood and me seeing them at the World Cup makes me happy," he added.

Ghana however exited the tournament at the group phase with just three points having won just a game against South Korea but suffered defeats against Portugal and Uruguay.
