The president of Egyptian side Zamalek SC, Murtada Mansour has revealed that he had disagreements with the former CAF president Issa Hayatou over the “Club of the Century” award.
Mansour confirmed this through his official Facebook account. In the end, he stated that he thought the award was given to a club undeserving of that honor.
"We confirm our respect for the speech that the African Union sent us regarding its slogan on the signs of Zamalek club, which confirms that we are the real century club with championships and achievements, not compliments," he said on his Facebook account.
“There is no disagreement between us and Ahmed Ahmed, the disagreement is with former President Issa Hayatou who granted the title of the Club of the Horn of Africa to those who do not deserve it."
