Technical advisor of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton has opened up on working with the head coach of the side, Otto Addo.

Hughton, who is a former Premier League has been awarded the role of the technical advisor for the national team.

The former Newcastle boss joined the Black Stars set-up ahead of the 2022 World Cup playoff games against Nigeria.

Hughton, together with Addo, Didi Dramani, George Boateng, and Richard Kingston masterminded Ghana's qualification for the Mundial at the expense of the Super Eagles.

Speaking to TV3 in an interview, Hughton revealed that he has a smooth relationship with Otto Addo, who is the assistant coach of Borussia Dortmund.

“The relationship [with Otto Addo] has been very good,” Hughton said.

“I must admit I knew of Otto as a player who played for Ghana and spent most of his time in Germany. But I didn’t know him personally.”

“My first impression when I met him was very good. I think that was reciprocated. I think the opportunity to work with him was something that was exciting for me and I think it goes both ways.

“We get on very well but also, it’s about putting a technical team in place and that is done very well,” he added.

Ghana will play two friendlies this month, against Brazil and Nicaragua, in preparation for the World Cup, which begins on November 20.

Black Stars will begin their campaign against Portugal on November 24, followed by matches against South Korea and Uruguay.
