Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Vice President, George Afriyie has opened up on his admiration of in-form Black Stars forward Mohammed Kudus.

According to him, the Ajax star is on the path to becoming a top player in the world.

Speaking to 3Sports in an interview, George Afriyie said he has no doubt Mohammed Kudus will make the country proud.

“Firstly he needs our prayers and support. Even at a point where he fails us, let us continue to support him because he is riding on a typical Ghanaian history coming out with one or two players at a particular time.

“Having seen the likes of Abedi Pele [Ayew], Michael Essien, Asamoah Gyan, and Sulley Muntari, I think that it’s gotten to the turn of Mohammed Kudus. He has started so well and is doing so well,” George Afriyie said.

The experienced Ghana football administrator added, “He needs our prayers and support. From what he is doing, he is going to emerge just as his predecessors have been able to do. I have no doubt that he will be able to deliver and make Ghana proud and lift the flag of Ghana very very high.”

Mohammed Kudus is having his best season at Ajax in the ongoing campaign.

He is one of 25 players invited for Ghana’s next assignment in the AFCON qualifiers.
