‘I have to get up and continue fighting if I fall’ - Thomas Partey on injury woes at Arsenal

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey says he can’t stay down if he falls and must get back up fighting while addressing his injury woes at Arsenal.

The former Atletico Madrid defensive shield has been plagued by muscular issues throughout the 2023/24 season with his last one coming at the in October 2023 and kept him out for nearly eight months.

Partey spent a large chunk of last season injured, managing to play just 16 games in all competitions.

Speaking about his injury woes at Arsenal, with no injury history at Atletico Madrid, before moving to North London.

“It’s life. Things happen and sometimes they are things you cannot control. But I have to keep going and keep fighting,” Partey said.

“Every time I fall, I have to get up and fight back. That’s the mentality I have. I also think that any time I can help the team, that is what I have to do.”

Thomas Partey featured in Arsenal’s preseason draw against Bournemouth, playing over 60 minutes.
