I refused to join any European club during my playing days because of my love for Kotoko – Rev. Osei Kofi

Ghana legend, Rev. Osei Kofi has opened up on why he refused to leave the shores of the country during his playing days.

Speaking to Asanteman FM in an interview on Wednesday, February 15, the former Black Stars talisman noted that he opted to spend his entire career at Asante Kotoko because of his mad love for the Kumasi-based club.

According to Rev. Osei Kofi, he received several offers from Europe at the time but always felt there was no point leaving the Porcupine Warriors club.

“I had a lot of offers from different European clubs but I refused to go because of the love for Asante Kotoko,” the player tagged as a dribbling wizard by FIFA said.

Meanwhile, Rev. Osei Kofi has declared that he is Ghana’s Greatest Footballer of All Time (GOAT).

“I am now the GOAT in Ghana now.

“I always feel proud being a Ghanaian, although I’m not sometimes being recognised,” Rev. Osei Kofi said.

Meanwhile, the celebrated Ghanaian footballer has disclosed that late Brazil legend, Pele was his idol during his days as an active footballer.

“The late Pele was my idol during my playing days. The late CK Gyampi encouraged me to become a very good player,” Rev. Osei Kofi added.
