I struggled playing against Medeama’s Vincent Atinga – Afriyie Barnieh reveals

Striker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has named Medeama SC centre back, Vincent Atinga as the toughest opponent he played against in the just-ended 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.

The promising forward despite the struggle of the side had a fruitful campaign, leading his side to the MTN FA Cup title by netting the winner in the final against Bechem United at the Baba Yara Stadium.

However, the former U-20 skipper has named the former Hearts of Oak centre back as his toughest opponent.

“He’s an experienced defender and he has played in foreign leagues and met good players," he told Asempa FM.

“Atinga plays with a lot of calmness and he seemed to know all our key moves and mine as well.

“Whenever I play against him, we both struggle and that’s because he’s experienced and understands the local game too," he added.

Vincent Atinga was at Hearts of Oak under Scottish coach Frank Nuttal in a team that built one of the best attacks in recent years.
