Darmstadt 98 midfielder, Braydon Manu has disclosed that he though his Black Stars call-up was fake when he first got the invite.

According to the German-based player, he had not played extraordinarily this season and hence he was not expecting to be called to play for the Ghana national team.

“It came like nothing, I was surprised because I thought it was fake, I didn’t believe it. The technical director (Bernhard Lippert) called to tell me and I was happy but still I was like how?

“To be honest, I hadn’t played that much to earn the call up but then I told myself maybe they had seen something in me that other people hadn’t seen,” Braydon Manu has shard.

He continued, “So this was the thing I said and after that Coach (CK Akonnor) called me, and step by step that was it. They told me they are watching me. And the next day Alex Asante was calling asking for my passport and told me they needed my passport because they wanted me to come to the National team.

“I was like wow, God is good, and I told him I am not having a passport. I only have a German passport.”

Despite being named on the bench of the Ghana Black Stars for the Ethiopia and South Africa matches, he did not get the chance to mark his debut.
