'I use to beat Joe Addo because he doesn't follow my instructions' - Ex-Hearts of Oak goalie Nana Crentsil

Former Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Nana Banyin Crentsil, has revealed that he resorted to physically disciplining his defenders in order to enforce his commands on the field.

In an interview with Dan Kwaku Yeboah, Crentsil singled out former Hearts defender Joe Addo, recounting instances where Addo allegedly disregarded his instructions during matches.

According to Crentsil, when he would instruct Addo to clear the ball, the defender would instead engage in showboating, drawing praise from the fans.

Frustrated by the apparent insubordination, Crentsil admitted to taking matters into his own hands during corner situations.

He confessed to deliberately targeting Addo, resorting to physical force as a form of punishment for what he perceived as disobedience.

"I'm the one controlling him and I will be like 'Joe, clear the ball' that's when he will show off and the fans will hail him 'Joe governer!' But when he loses the ball and they score people will insult me. So when there is a corner that's where I get him. He is my player but I would punch his head. I wanted to injure him so that next time he would listen."
