Asante Kotoko new signing Samuel Asamoah wants to emulate club legends like Frank Amankwaa, Aziz Ansah and Amos Frimpong at the club.

The 23-year-old completed his switch to the Porcupine Warriors from Bofoakwa Tano on Thursday and is expected to play a huge role for the club next season.

Asamoah penned a three-year deal that will keep him at Kotoko until 2026.

After completing his switch, the highly-rated defender has vowed to do his best in order to achieve legendary right-back status like Frank Amankwaa, Aziz Ansah and Amos Frimpong at the club.

“This is a great step for me because it has been the club I have always prayed for, and to be here finally means a lot.

"I know fans of Kotoko do not take their number-two position lightly because of names like Frank Amankwaa, Aziz Ansah and Amos Frimpong, but I will be ready to do my best to be remembered like these legends.”

The highly-rated right-back had a sensational season with Bofoakwa Tano, playing a pivotal role in helping the Sunyani-based side secure Premier League qualification after a 16-year absence.

He made 18 appearances last season with five assists.

The former Bofoakwa Tano star becomes the fourth signing in Prosper Narteh Ogum's defensive reinforcement following the acquisition of Yahaya Dawuni, Nanabeyin Amoah, and Ansu Henry.

In all, the African club of the century has signed five players in the ongoing transfer window. Andrews Ntim Manu and Kalo Ouattara completes the acquisitions made by Kotoko so far.
