I wanted to sign Salifu Ibrahim, Caleb Amankwah when I was with Medeama – Coach Samuel Boadu

Hearts of Oak head coach, Samuel Boadu has disclosed that he wanted to sign defender Caleb Amankwah and attacker Salifu Ibrahim when he was with Medeama SC.

The two players have played key roles for the Phobians in the second round of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season. For Salifu Ibrahim in particular, he has been a star for Coach Samuel Boadu since the pair united at Hearts of Oak.

Speaking to Light FM in an interview on Monday, the gaffer has revealed that Caleb Amankwah and Salifu Ibrahim had been his targets for a while.

According to him, he planned to poach the duo when he was with Medeama SC but the deals could not go through.

“I wanted to sign Salifu Ibrahim and Caleb Amankwah when I was in Medeama but their mind changed when I left Medeama to Hearts so I decided to sign them,” the gaffer said.

With the help of Coach Samuel Boadu and these two players, Hearts of Oak have won the Ghana Premier League title.
