Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi has accused the club of neglect following a long-term injury.

The former Medeama SC player has been sidelined for 11 months due to an injury that requires surgery, but the club has yet to approve the procedure, leaving Antwi in limbo.

In an interview, Ofori Antwi criticized the club for abandoning him during his time of need.

"I got injured 11 months ago, and the doctor advised surgery, but I’m still waiting for Hearts of Oak to take action," he said on Medeama FM.

Antwi also disclosed that the club asked him to leave when he sought their support for his injury.

“After I got injured, they told me to go home," he said, expressing his disappointment.

Despite the situation, Antwi remains hopeful that Hearts of Oak will eventually assist him.

"I believe Hearts of Oak will come to my aid and help me undergo the surgery," he added.

Antwi addressed rumours about his departure, clarifying that he still has a contract with the club.

Antwi joined Hearts of Oak from Legon Cities in August 2022 but has been largely unused, making only eight league appearances before his injury.

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak has confirmed they have parted ways with Eric Ofori Antwi ahead of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
