Ghana international, Jeffrey Schlupp has revealed his role meted out to him by Crystal Palace boss against Leicester City.

The winger was introduced into the game in the second half, replacing Conor Gallagher.

Schlupp netted the equalizer a minute later as Crystal Palace recorded a remarkable 2-2 draw at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

After the game, Schlupp revealed that manager Patrick Vieira had instructed him to support Edouard Odsonne in the Palace attack.

“The gaffer has put me on to try and impact the game, and get in the box,” he told Skysports.

“I managed to do that straight away and obviously I’m happy to get the goal.

"I’ll take the goals however they come. I wanted to get in the box and with my header, I just wanted to get it on target.

“[Vieira] told me to play in the pockets, play close to the strikers as a right-forward and I managed to find myself close to the goal – and I managed to get myself into the box and get a goal.”He added.," he added.

Palace will travel to Emirates Monday, October 18 to face Arsenal in a London derby.

Meanwhile, Schlupp has been left out f Ghana's squad for the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe later this month.
