I wish Hearts of Oak survive relegation - George Kennedy ahead of GPL final day

Former Asante Kotoko management member George Kennedy has backed Hearts of Oak to survive relegation at the end of the Ghana Premier League campaign this weekend.

The Phobians are starring at relegation and must secure victory against Bechem United on final day to maintain their status in the Ghanaian top-flight.

Hearts of Oak are just a point above the drop zone, heading into the final match of the season next week.

“The current state of Hearts of Oak is very unfortunate. Kotoko and Hearts are used to battling for the league title not relegation. Ghana football will suffer if Heart of Oak go to relegation. The standard of Ghana football is declining because the clubs are not well resourced. I think if clubs are able to get the necessary support they can go in for quality players and this will raise the standard of our game”

“Notwithstanding, if Hearts and Kotoko are top of their games it benefits other clubs financially. People will be willing to go to stadium in every game and that will generate revenue for the clubs. I wish Hearts of Oak the best in their last game against Bechem United. I wish they win to stay in the league”

Hearts of Oak are away to Bechem United in matchday 34 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
