In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Berekum Chelsea goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad is hoping football in Ghana returns soon.

Since 15 March 2020, after the surge in coronavirus cases, the top-flight in Ghanaian and all other football activities in the country have been halted.

Ghana FA has been in discussions with major government and health sector stakeholders on how to resume football, but no approval has been given.

He told outlet kickgh; "I think it is not a bad idea for football to return,"

"However, I believe that all the players will go through a mandatory test to prevent mayhem,"

"Football is our work and ones the authorities signal that we should play, we will have no choice."

Danlad playing on-loan from Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC kept eight clean sheets out of 14 games for Berekum Chelsea before the suspension of the premiership.

Danlad was the first choice goalkeeper when he represented Ghana at the 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup in India.

The 17-year-old has also been part of the Ghana squads for the 2019 U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Niger and the 2019 U23 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
