Black Meteors coach, Ibrahim Tanko is convinced the team will make it to the 2024 Olympic Games next year in Paris.

Ghana's U-23 side are currently in Rabat preparing for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations which gets underway this weekend.

The country has struggled to make it to the Olympic Games with the last participation in 2004 in Athens.

The Black Meteors will open their campaign against Congo on Sunday at the Rabat’s Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex and must secure a place in the last three to secure qualification for the Olympics.

However, Tanko beleives the playing body are prepared to qualify for the tournament in Paris next year.

"These players were nearly there in the previous tournament," he told SuperSport. "Only one penalty miss prevented them from playing at the Olympic Games.

"This time, I am confident that this team will qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris," he added.

Ghana will take on host country, Morocco in their Group A games before wrapping up against Guniea.

The team after arriving in Rabat on Wednesday night held their first training on Thursday.
