Ghana international defender Baba Rahman is looking forward to making a swift return to the pitch after going unconscious during a Greek Cup semifinal game between Panathinaikos and PAOK on Wednesday night.

The Black Stars defender went unconscious after colliding with an opponent player in the much-anticipated encounter.

The incident occurred in the 115th minute of the match, which had gone into extra time following a stalemate in regular time.

Baba Rahman received immediate medical attention on the field and regained consciousness.

However, the former Chelsea defender says he would be back running up and down again soon.

“Hello, just wanted to thank everyone for their concern and well wishes in the last 12 or so hours.  Thankfully I’m recovering well and scans have shown no major damage”

“I’d like to also say a big thank you to Georgios Vagiannidis for personally checking in on me at the hospital. It was a tough night but I’d be back running up and down again soon” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Panathinaikos emerged victorious in the shootout, securing their place in the Greek Cup final with a 6-5 win on penalties.

Baba Rahman has been a key player for PAOK FC since joining them permanently last summer after departing Chelsea.

In the ongoing season, he has contributed three goals and two assists in 18 league matches for the Black and White lads.
