If I am offered a Russian passport I will collect it - Rubin Kazan striker Joel Fameyeh

In a surprising revelation, Rubin Kazan striker, Joel Fameyeh, has expressed his willingness to embrace a new identity on the field - that of a Russian national.

The Ghanaian striker has made it clear that he would eagerly accept a Russian passport without a second thought, should such an opportunity be extended to him.

"If they give me a Russian passport, I am ready to accept it," Fameyeh told Match TV.

On 2 June 2022, Fameyeh signed a three-year contract with FC Rubin Kazan.

The 26-year-old formerly played for Belshina Bobruisk, Dinamo Brest, and Orenburg. At Orenburg he made 84 appearances and scored 34 goals from 2019 to 2022.

The former Asokawa Deportivo striker has spent four years playing in Russia and he is on the periphery of the Ghana national team.

He made his debut for Ghana's U-23 side on December 18, 2018. Joel Fameyeh has made six appearances for Ghana and scored twice.

His market value according to Transfermarkt is 1,500,000 euros.
