Illgner: Real Madrid don\'t need De Gea. They need to...

Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Bodo Illgner says signing David de Gea shouldn't be a priority this summer.

Illgner insists the Manchester United keeper isn't needed, instead the club should give total support to Keylor Navas.

He explained to El Larguero: "Real Madrid needs a goalkeeper who has confidence and that is the work of the coach and the club.

"If someone talks to other goalkeepers and negotiates ... No matter if he is called Casillas, De Gea or Keylor Navas, the same thing will happen, if they sign De Gea and doubt him at any point, he will not be able to give as much as he can.

"They doubted Keylor and we saw it with Iker Casillas when the stadium was divided between him and Diego López. It is impossible to play at your top.

"It is difficult to prove something if everyone doubts you."

On the world's best keepers, the German added: "For me, the number one is Neuer, then I really like Courtois and De Gea. But it is difficult to define order."
