I'm able to play a lot of positions on the pitch - Ghana and Clermont Foot defender Alidu Seidu reveals

Clermont Foot defender, Alidu Seidu says as long as he can help the team achieve its objective then he is happy to play anywhere because all he wants is to enjoy his football.

The 22-year-old has been deployed as a full-back, as a central defender and sometimes as a defensive midfielder throughout his playing career.

In the national team, Seidu has featured as a centre-back as well as a right-back under Otto Addo.

“It is true, I am able to play a lot of positions on the pitch. As a player, all I always say to myself is to do what the coach demands from me when I am on the pitch,” he said on Joy Sports’ Star Connect.

“When you tell me to play right-back, I will do my best, centre-back – I give my best for the team and myself. For me [the motive] is to play football and enjoy so whenever the coach tells me to go and play as the striker I will always give my best because I like football.

“I don’t complain about [this or that] not being my position so I can’t play here. I just want to play.”

Seidu was named in Ghana's 55-man provisional squad for the 2022 FIFA Word Cup and will be hoping to make the final squad which will be named on Monday, November 14.

Black Stars have been drawn in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.

Ghana will take on Portugal in their first game on November 24 before playing South Korea and Uruguay on November 28 and December 2 respectively.
