Barcelona full-back David Oduro has expressed his determination to make an impact on the pitch after signing for the Catalan club's B team.

Last month, Oduro made history as the first player to be signed directly from Ghana to the Spanish side. The 18-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Blaugrana, transferring from Ghana Premier League side Accra Lions.

Before his move to Spain, the left-back had trials with Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen in an effort to secure a transfer.

In an interview with the Barcelona media team, Oduro shared his thoughts: “I would say I'm a cool guy, very shy, and on the foot, I would say I'm always determined to do what I have to do on the pitch."

“It means a lot to me. Like I said earlier, Barcelona has always been the club I support since I was a child. And now that I'm here, I will work hard to establish myself very well.”

Oduro will start his journey with Barcelona Athletic, where he will be joined by fellow Ghanaian Abdul Aziz Issah, who is moving on loan from Dreams FC.
