Nations FC forward Asamoah Boateng Afriyie has opened up on his failed Ghana Premier League goal king ambition.

The Hearts of Oak-bound bottled the goal king prize to Berekum Chelsea forward Stephen, who netted 19 goals to annex the 2023/24 topscorer award.

Afriyie scored 12 goals across competitions for Nations FC, who finished seventh in the league.

Speaking in an interview, Boateng disclosed he is unperturbed losing the domestic top-flight goal king award at the end of the season.

“Injuries came in along the line. I’m not disappointed failing to win the Ghana Premier League goal king. Despite not scoring at some point in time, my performance was okay. I’m pleased with it because I’m among the first six top scorers in the league” he said.

The forward is one of the most sought-after striker in the Ghanaian transfer window following his impressive performance for Nations FC last term.

Afriyie is already in Accra and is expected to undergo a medical examination this week before signing a contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2026.
