I’m not impressed with that verdict - Cameroon legend Feutmba on FIFA ruling on South Africa petition against Ghana

Former Cameroonian international, Roger Feutmba says he's not impressed FIFA's ruling on South Africa's petition against Ghana in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

South Africa sent some protests to FIFA after losing 1-0 to the Black Stars at the Cape Coast Stadium in a World Cup qualification decider.

After days of deliberation on the matter, FIFA dismissed the protest, citing the evidence provided on manipulation as 'inadmissible'.

"I’m not impressed with that verdict. Everyone saw what happened in Ghana. It is a shame what FIFA did and will send the wrong message about African football," Feutmba told the Siya crew.

"I think they should’ve done more investigation into the matter. It is very unfortunate for Bafana Bafana and this decision takes African football backwards.

"This shows that African football belongs to certain region, it is not good for the game but it was expected because there’s something wrong in the leadership, especially when it comes to sorting out African football," he told soccerladuma in an interview.

It is unclear as to whether South Africa will appeal this decision. But, it has been reported that the governing body will seek further clarification from FIFA on the matter.

South Africa will miss the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after failing to qualify.
