Improve player welfare – ex-Hearts of Oak general manager urges club

Published on: 09 February 2023

Resigned Hearts of Oak Acting General Manager, Bernard Gyebi has admonished the club to take the welfare of players at the club very seriously.

According to him, the club must put in place an improved welfare system for players if indeed it believes it is a professional club.

“If we call ourselves a professional club then Hearts needs to change their player welfare system,” Bernard Gyebi said in an interview with Asempa FM.

During the interview, the resigned Acting General Manager of the Phobians also urged the club to employ the services of a committed team doctor who will always be around the team to monitor and take care of players.

“Accra Hearts of Oak needs a competent Team doctor, you need a committed team doctor. You can’t have a team doctor who doesn’t come to training and games as well,” Bernard Gyebi added.

Bernard Gyebi only resigned from his position this week after working as the Acting General Manager of Accra Hearts of Oak for just four months.
