In-form striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom handed late Black Stars call up

In-form Ghana striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom has been handed a late call by Coach Kwesi Appiah for the double header world cup qualifiers against Congo.

The striker was invited to be a backup for troubled Raphael Dwamena, who will be reviewed following his failed move to English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.

The 24 year old is expected to join the Black Stars on Thursday, as they continue with preparations for the game on Friday, against Congo in Kumasi.

''Boakye is ever ready to serve his country. The call up is late but he's ready and will give more than 100%,'' his agent Oliver Arthur told GHANASoccernet.com

Boakye-Yiadom has been in top form but was overlooked in the naming of the 24-man squad last week.

He was top scorer in the Europa League qualifying round where his seven goals helped Red Star to qualify for the Group stage.
