Black Stars striker Inaki Williams couldn't help but shower praise on his teammate Gideon Mensah for a sublime moment that resulted in his first goal for Ghana.

In their first Group I 2026 World Cup qualifier against Madagascar at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday evening, the Athletic Club star netted a 95th-minute winner for the Black Stars.

The 29-year-old, who had endured an 11-game goal drought for Ghana, prompting discussions about potentially benching him, rose to the occasion.

Iñaki Williams made a decisive impact against the Barea, heading in a flawless cross from Gideon Mensah to secure crucial three points for Ghana. Speaking after the game, Inaki was full of praise for his teammate.

“The Almighty made this possible for me. All my teammates are calling me ‘Kwaku the Baller’. I’m so happy. I can only say thank you. Gideon Mensah put in a good cross and I scored the goal. I’m so happy.”

Ghana will take on Comoros on Tuesday evening.
