2024/25 Ghana Premier League: Week 1 Match Preview - Nsoatreman FC v Young Apostles

Published on: 06 September 2024

Nsoatreman FC will begin their 20224/25 Ghana Premier League campaign with a game against debutants Young Apostles at the Nana Koramansah Park on Sunday.

The Amanaso outfit will be going into the new season with the core of their squad, maintaining top players such as Manaf Umar, Stephen Diyou, Abdul Rahman and goalkeeper Daniel Afadzu for the new campaign.

Despite keeping a chunk of their squad, Nsoatreman FC competed very well on the transfer market, securing the services of several top players.

However, the FA Cup champions are gunning to kick start the Premier League on a good note as victory against their opponent could send a strong signal to other clubs.

Nsoatreman will begin the season with a new coach in the person of Yaw Preko following the exit of Maxwell Konadu at the end of last season.

They made a significant start to their maiden CAF Confederation Cup campaign after eliminating Chadian side Elect Sport 5-0 on aggregate in the first round of the preliminary round. The team will hope to transform their performance in Africa into the Ghanaian top-flight this weekend to secure maximum points in opener.

Meanwhile, the Premier League newcomers are plotting Nsoatreman FC downfall in the opening game on Sunday. They’ve bolstered their squad with some experienced players and will be counting on them season.

Young Apostles are set for their maiden participation in the Premier League after emerging as winners in Zone 1 of the Division One League last season.

In a bid to avoid a return to the lower-tier, Young Apostles must approach their opening game with all seriousness in order to escape defeat against Nsoatreman FC.

Young Apostles' away game against Nsoatreman could justify the newcomers’ readiness for Ghana’s elite competition.
