Beating Benin was not easy; it was a difficult match, says Black Starlets coach Laryea Kingston

Head coach of the Black Starlets of Ghana, Laryea Kingston commended his team’s fighting spirit on Tuesday after their win over Benin in the ongoing WAFU Zone B U17 Championship.

The Ghana male U17 side scored twice today in a game played at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium to take all three points from the opponent.

Speaking in his post-match interview, Coach Laryea Kingston said although many expected the match to be easy, it was in fact a tough contest.

“This game was very difficult for us. People thought it will be a walk in the park but it wasn’t. It was a very difficult match. We were very lucky that we saw their game against Ivory Coast. So that gave us advantage to see what they are bringing on board. “There are a lot of good teams at this tournament,” Coach Laryea Kingston said.

The win over Benin on Tuesday has sent the Ghana Black Starlets to the semi-finals of the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship.
