Nsoatreman FC coach Maxwell Konadu says he is surprised following his outfit success in the 2023/24 Ghana FA Cup campaign.

The experienced tactician on Sunday led Nsoatreman FC to beat Bofoakwa Tano in the final of the FA Cup at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Bofoakwa Tano took an early lead in the 22nd minute through a well-placed goal by Richard Dzikoe but Nsoatreman FC showed resilience to pull parity eleven minutes later through Sadat Mohammed.

Despite both teams creating numerous opportunities, neither could find the back of the net during the additional 30 minutes, leading to a tense penalty shootout.

Nsoatreman SC held their nerve and emerged victorious with a 5-4 scoreline, sparking jubilant celebrations among their players and supporters.

Speaking after the game, the former Asante Kotoko coach asserted the FA Cup triumph comes as a surprise to him.

“I knew we will do well before the start of the season and I think when you believe in yourself, it is the beginning of everything”

“The self believe did a lot. It motivated me to sign for Nsoatreman. I knew that we could do well in the league and the FA Cup but I never thought we could win the Cup. It has come as a surprise to me”

The triumph not only marks Nsoatreman's first major trophy but also earns them the honour of representing Ghana in the prestigious continental competition.
