Black Stars goalkeeping coach Fatawu Dauda aims to improve psychological aspects of goalkeepers' game

Fatawu Dauda, the goalkeeping coach for Ghana's Black Stars, has highlighted the need for significant improvements in the goalkeeping department.

In an interview with Peace FM, as monitored by Footballghana.com, Dauda acknowledged the criticism faced by the current group of goalkeepers due to their poor performances.

Dauda, who recently took up the coaching role, is focused on enhancing the psychological aspects of the goalkeepers' game. He believes that this is crucial for their development, as most of them are already playing at a high level and have their own coaches.

"There's a lot of work to be done at this level. The keepers are playing high-level football and have their coaches already. So when they come to the national team, I just polish them and focus on the psychological aspects of the game, which I believe is the most important thing they need now," Dauda said.

The coach has been actively scouting for talent, both within Ghana and internationally. He has identified around ten goalkeepers each from the local league and outside. However, the challenge lies in the selection process.

"We have good goalkeepers all around. I was monitoring and scouting about ten goalkeepers outside and ten goalkeepers in the local league. But it's just about decision and selection," Dauda added.
