The Capelli Boys displayed tremendous resilience to secure qualification over WAFA in the Volta Region Division Two Middle League playoff on Sunday.

In a highly competitive clash, WAFA opened the scoring after just 16 minutes into the game. The Academy boys went to the halftime break with the advantage.

Putting on a stellar performance, Inter Allies found the back of the next in the 53rd minute mark to pull parity in the crucial encounter.

Inter Allies dominated the remaining 25 minutes but were unable to find the back of the net as both teams settled for a 1-1 stalemate in regular time.

The game travelled to penalty shootout, where Inter Allies emerged victorious, beating WAFA 4-1 to clinch the Volta Region Division Two title.

Inter Allies will now feature in the Division One League in the upcoming campaign and are expected to compete in Zone 3.

The Capelli boys were demoted to the Division Two following their match fixing scandal against Ashantigold during the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League campaign.

They will be hoping to secure qualification back to the Ghanaian top-flight league next season.
