Otto Addo set to phase out aged Black Stars players - Reports

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is reportedly set to phase out some senior members in the team as he intends to build his team around youthful players.

Reports from Angel FM indicate that Addo has met with senior Black Stars players ahead of announcing the squad for the upcoming matches against Mali and the Central African Republic.

Addo reportedly held individual meetings with players like Thomas Partey, Andre Ayew, and Daniel Amartey to discuss his vision for the team.

According to the report, Addo aims to reduce reliance on older players and instead focus on nurturing younger talent within the team.

While the veteran players are expected to be included in the squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic, their involvement is likely to decrease in future selections.

The 'renewed' Black Stars are anticipated to feature West Ham United's Mohammed Kudus prominently, with Antoine Semenyo, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Tariq Lamptey, and others expected to play more pivotal roles.

Addo is set to announce the squad for the matches against Mali and the Central African Republic shortly.
