Samartex owner Richard Duah Nsenkyire says his outfit cannot survive in the CAF Champions League campaign if they are to depend on the Ghana Premier League prize money.

The Timber giants are set for their maiden Africa campaign following their historic Ghana Premier League triumph at the end of the 2023/24 season, marking a significant milestone for the club.

Samartex pocked GHC500,000 for emerging as winners of the 2023/24 domestic top-flight campaign, dethroning Medeama.

Speaking to 3FM monitored by Footballghana.com, Richard Duah lament on the Ghana Premier League prize money and has therefore advocated for support ahead of their Africa campaign.

“We can’t survive with this prize money for our Africa campaign. It can’t even pay our bills” he said as he pleads for support ahead of their maiden Africa campaign.

“We are representing Ghana in Africa and I expect all corporate bodies and all individuals, philanthropist and others to come to our aid and help us push the agenda so that in the nearest future, our slot in Africa can be increased because when we do well it affects automatically everybody in the football family”
