Injured Andy Yiadom set for stay on the sidelines until February 2021

Ghana defender Andy Yiadom has been ruled out of action until February 2021 after checks confirmed that his knee injury is serious than earlier feared.

The hardworking full-back suffered the injury while in action for Reading on the opening weekend of the 2020/2021 English Championship season in a game against Derby County.

After staying out for a while, Andy Yiadom later returned to action after making a recovery to feature in games against Preston North End and Stoke City.

Unfortunately, the defender saw the knee injury recurring and had to be sent to the treatment room.

While he was expected to return to action before the end of the year, latest checks have revealed that the 29-year old cannot return to the pitch anytime soon.

"Andy is [out] longer than both Araruna and Swift because he got injured again in the Stoke game.

"Unfortunately it's going to take a little bit more time,” Reading manager Veljko Paunović has confirmed.

Andy Yiadom is now expected to fully recover in the latter part of January 2021 and should be ready for action in February.
