Injuries clearing up for Poch

Published on: 18 October 2018

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino is pleased to have a number of key players either back in contention or close to a return to action for this weekend.

Spurs make the short journey to the London Stadium to take on West Ham on Saturday and will have fit-again midfield duo Christian Eriksen and Mousa Dembele among their number.

It is important to have everyone fit to keep the level we want.

England schemer Dele Alli and left-back Danny rose are not quite ready to join in, but Pochettino hopes to see them back in the fold in the very near future.

He told reporters: "The international break was a good time for us. We recovered a number of players like Christian Eriksen and Mousa Dembele.

"Christian is ready again to compete and to play. We will decide on Saturday if he will play from the beginning or from the bench.

"Still maybe one more week or ten days for Dele Alli and Danny Rose is the same, one week. The most important thing is that we have started to recover players.

"There are tough months to come, a lot of games ahead and it is important we have nearly all the squad fit to compete and to play. It is important to have everyone fit to keep the level we want."

Spurs will be hoping to make it four consecutive Premier League wins on Saturday, having won this fixture 3-2 last season thanks to two goals from Harry Kane and one from Eriksen.

The Whites are 4/5 to take all three points on Saturday, with Kane 8/11 to score at any time, while the visitors are 2/1 to keep a clean sheet.
