Inspirational Andre Ayew steers Swansea City to English Championship playoffs for the second straight season

Ghana international, Andre Ayew produced a magical performance on Sunday afternoon to steer his Swansea City outfit to book a place in the English Championship playoffs.

The exciting attacker after picking up an injury in the game against Wycombe Wanderers, was expected to miss yesterday’s match against Reading.

After passing a later fitness test, however, Andre Ayew only missed out on a starting role but earned a place on his team’s substitutes bench.

Trailing by a goal to nil to Reading at the end of the first half, Swansea City manager Steve Cooper introduced his top man Andre Ayew in the second half to replace Liam Cullen.

Making an instant impact, the Black Stars captain pushed his team to score through Jamal Lowe to draw level.

Later on, Andre Ayew took matters into his own hands and scored his 16th goal of the season to give Swansea City a 2-1 lead.

Although Reading will equalize in added time to force the match to end 2-2, the result was enough to book a place in the English Championship playoffs for the Swans.

Earning a high rating, the Ghana star has been applauded for leading Swansea City to a second playoff in the last two seasons.

The Welsh club is hoping to succeed in other to gain promotion to the English Premier League.
