Kevin Strootman’s move to Marseille has set off a Twitter war between Roma and Inter, with both clubs taking shots at the other over their transfer dealings.

The Dutchman completed a €28 million move to the French club on Tuesday, and with the Giallorossi gaining notoriety for their creative player reveals, the Ligue 1 side asked them for advice.

The Giallorossi responded by taking a shot at Inter’s video for Stefan de Vrij, in which the Dutchman was dressed as a mason, and stating that Marseille’s was better.

Inter didn’t just sit back in the discussion, and made light of Roma’s failure to sign Malcom – posting a screenshot of a video that isn’t available after the Brazilian opted for a last minute move to Barcelona.

Inter were also linked with a move for Malcom, and Roma used that – along with the failed signings of Arturo Vidal and Luka Modric – to create a scenario where all three players would have helped the Nerazzurri rescue a draw from their opening day defeat to Sassuolo.

The two sides ended it all by calling out the other’s inability to sign Malcom, though Inter’s meme use has seen them generate substantially more retweets and likes than Roma.
