Defender Ismael Abdul Ganiu has returned from injury and has started training with his Kotoko side ahead of the start of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season.

The former Karela United center-back has been out of action for the past month after sustaining a knee injury during one of the training sessions of the Reds at their Adako Jachie facility.

Having spent several months on the sidelines, the defender has now made significant progress and has started training today under new manager Maxwell Konadu.

He will be monitored for the next two weeks to determine whether he will be match fit to feature for the Porcupine Warriors in their opening match of the Ghana Premier League which has been scheduled for the weekend of December 27-29, 2019.

Kotoko will play its first game against Berekum Chelsea in a home game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
