New Degerfors IF signing Joseph-Claude Gyau has expressed his delight after joining the Swedish outfit from FC Cincinnati in the USA.

The 29-year-old joins the club on a two-year deal after successful negotiations. He is currently in Cincinnati and will arrive in Sweden on Saturday.

He will commence training with his new teammates on Monday, after completing his medical.

"It feels very good! It feels good to be back in Europe and fun to come to a club that has a lot of tradition and history.

"Not very much, but I have good friends who know and they only have nice things to say about the club. A good club with a lot of experience and talent among the players. I look forward to meeting them!" Gyau said after putting pen to paper.

"I have a good pace and like to take advantage of the fact that I am fast. I'm just in one on one, fit and good with both feet. Masters many different positions on the pitch, so my versatility is a strength as well.

"To help the team as much as possible. Good results and that we end up high in the table. I want to be a good teammate and a player that fans can count on always doing their utmost."

He added, "I long to meet the fans and hope that we will have a good future together."

"I have already received a lot of positive messages on social media, there are many who have welcomed me and I appreciate that very much."

Gyau has previously featured for TSG Hoffenheim, St. Pauli, Borussia Dortmund II, Sonnenhof Großaspach and MSV Duisburg in Germany.
