Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has expressed his appointment after Thomas Partey was shown a card in their 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup on Thursday night.

Partey, who represented Ghana at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon was introduced into the game in the second half as a substitute.

Very late into the game, he received two yellow cards in the space of three minutes and was sent off in the process.

"It is a big loss and we have to learn from that. We have played the last three games with ten men and against top sides you can't do that because we are completely exposed," Arteta said.

"It's difficult enough to beat them, but with ten men it becomes a real challenge and it's not what we need with the amount of players we have out, not to have him available."
